You need to follow some steps to acquire Driving License in State of Nebraska:

Applying for New Driving License in State of Nebraska: You need to clear some basic tests to acquire driving license from the Driver License Examining Division of the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). You need to provide identification proofs as well. You must clear vision, written and driving tests. There are several types of licenses in Nebraska:

You are a Rural Driver, if you live 1.5 miles or more from your high school and you live outside a city of population of 5000 or more. You can obtain School Learner’s Permit (LPE) and then a School Permit (SCP). Your age should be between 14 and 16 years to obtain LPE. You must clear vision and written test. You should drive only when licensed driver aged 21 years or more accompanies you. Fee charged is $8. SCP can be obtained after you have held LPE for at least two months. You should have either completed driver education course or 50-hour driving practice to acquire SCP. SCP is valid until your 16th birthday and you can apply for Provisional Operators License (POP).

If you don’t live in rural area, then you can apply for learner’s permit (LPD) as you turn 15 years old. You should drive only when licensed driver aged 21 years or more accompanies you. Fee charged is $8. After this, you can apply for POP.

Provisional Operator’s Permit (POP) can be obtained after you complete the driver education course or designated hours of supervised driving-practice. You must clear vision, written and driving test. POP expires on your 18th birthday. Class A, B and C are commercial driving licenses. Class M is a motorcycle license.

The renewal period and fees will vary depending upon the types of licenses.

Renewing Driving License in State of Nebraska: You need to renew your driving license every five years. You receive a renewal post card about 90 days before the expiry date of your driving license. You need to visit your nearest examining location to get your license renewed. You need to clear vision test. Renewal fees for driving license depend on the type of license.
